@zeleftikam my z50 with athena trophy 72cc kit clutched geared and mrp pipe will run 75 downhill and high 65-68 on the flats im debating a gy6 swap but the more i read into it its not worth it. you make more power with a 2 stroke

@mickeymoose76 An Aprilia SR50 with a Malossi kit (is fuel injected not a carb) will do an easy 80mph. The standard SR50 with game boy tuning (derestricts the fuel injection unit) will do 61mph) In fact you can make an SR50 with a big bore kit etc do over 100mph. If you don’t believe it look up scooter attack dragster and see all the high power cars he can out drag on it. The 175cc kit with 32mm slide carb, 4 gr weights, red clutch springs, 4 valve head and higher gearing might just hit 80.

Yeah. Now it goes 60-65mph and still has a moped plate so I can park it in bike racks. I win

Alright thanks. Was it worth it?

  13. 13 zeleftikam said at 3:14 pm on November 23rd, 2010:

It didn’t line up perfectly, no, and required some bending/cutting/ingenuity/patience/anger to make work. You can see the finished result in some of my other videos.

  14. 14 bossman380 said at 4:04 pm on November 23rd, 2010:

Did that line up perfeclty? I’m planning on getting a scooter, but I’m a big dude (220llbs) I don’t think a 50cc scooter would be able to haul my fat ass lol. So I was hoping that I could mount a 150cc engine, on the frame of the 50, and get away with it. Because in my state, you have to pay for insurance and have a motorcycle lisence for anything higher than a 50cc scooter or what not.
    Thanks!!!

Yeah, the Minarelli is a great engine. They can make a lot of power with some displacement upgrades (big bore jug/stroker crank.) Then again, so can a GY6… and the big four stroke gets better fuel economy.

depends which chinese scooter. some of them are decent while some are terrible.
i know the zuma 50cc 2 stroke overall is the most dependable scoot on the road.
